FIRE IN GROUNDED VESSEL "HUAL EUROPE"

On 1 October, the ro/ro vessel HUAL EUROPE grounded in a typhoon on the island of Oshima in Japan.

The vessel could not been removed from the rocks for two months.

It rolled over 26/Nov and split into two parts and at the same time cought fire. The cause of the fire is unknown.

The Marine Disaster Prevention Center is attending to extinguish the fire and limit the environmental consequences.
