Japanese Auto Giant Confirms Cyber Attack on Global Operations
Japanese automaker Honda's global operations have been disrupted by a confirmed cyberattack. In a tweet published June 8, Honda Automobile's customer service Twitter account said customer service and financial services networks "were experiencing technical difficulties and were not available." The same day, a security researcher by the name of Twitter "milkream" published images of a sample of ransomware that actively looked for internal domains of the Honda network. If the domains in question are not resolved while the ransomware is running, it exists unencrypted.
