Oct 31 2025:
According to research firm Rho Motion, global electric vehicle (EV) sales increased by 23% in October 2025 to about 1.9 million units. Europe was a major contributor to this growth, with strong demand in Germany, France, and the U.K. boosting the region’s EV momentum. However, the picture was not uniform: North American EV sales plunged 41% year-on-year, largely due to the expiration of a $7,500 U.S. federal tax credit. Analysts suggest this drop could signal a pullback in demand in mature EV markets now that major incentives have ended.
