Risks of Not Changing Engine Oil Frequently

Vehicle owners must often carry out regular engine maintenance, especially your car oil, Car oil changes cannot be done haphazardly. The function of engine oil itself is as a lubricant in maintaining the performance of each component so that the engine works lighter and more optimally. If the oil is not changed regularly, it can cause damage to the car engine. There are basically three oils in a car that need to be changed regularly. There is engine oil, transmission oil, and also axle oil. The oil that is most frequently and regularly changed is engine oil. This is because the function of engine oil is very crucial. If the car uses fully synthetic oil, some car manufacturers usually suggest an oil change every time the car has traveled 10,000 km. This mileage can usually be achieved every 6 months.

The distance in kilometers stated in the vehicle manual is an assumption for a car driven on normal roads. That is, the car does not pass through bumpy roads, climbs, or roads that have a high level of congestion. The more difficult the road traversed, the engine performance will be very heavy. Therefore, the engine oil used will be more and more and make the oil dirty faster. If this happens, it is necessary to change the oil even though the vehicle mileage has not reached 10,000 km.

This is the Bad Impact of Rarely Changing Engine Oil:

The condition of car oil is one of the habits that must be carried out by every four-wheeled vehicle owner. Car oil in good condition can maintain and clean the car engine and prevent cracks due to friction between components. Sometimes even though car owners already know that car oil needs to be changed regularly, there are still car owners who don't regularly change engine oil for various reasons. As a result, it affects the performance of the car itself.

The following are the negative impacts if you does not change the engine oil:

1. Cars Are Less Powerful:

Oil really helps maximize engine performance. However, if you forget to change the car oil, it will make the engine performance less powerful. The oil also turns out to be thinner and darker in color because it is mixed with dirt. Over time, the engine will quickly break down, especially the pistons and cylinders, because they work harder than they should. There is a risk of scratching, rust, or fire.

2. Fuel Runs Out Fast:

The result of not changing the car's engine oil further also makes the pull heavier and the friction between engine components getting stronger. This condition makes the engine requires a source of power greater than fuel oil (BBM). That is why when the engine oil has not been replaced for a long time, the fuel will run out quickly.

3. Engine Overheats Fast:

Overheat is a condition where the car engine becomes very hot. This condition can occur because the car oil which is supposed to work as a car cooler does not function optimally because the oil is not changed regularly. As a result, it can cause damage to the engine as a whole.

4. Very Rough Engine Sound:

Lastly, due to not changing the car oil, it will make the engine sound harsh. Rough engine noise can interfere with concentration while driving. This condition is caused because the oil is very dilute. Very dilute oil is not able to reduce engine friction.

5. Material Loss:

In severe conditions, the machine must be dismantled for repair or even replaced as a whole. If it's like this, then the costs incurred can be many times the price for servicing or changing car oil. Before you regret later, make sure you know when was the last time you serviced and changed your oil. To check the condition of the oil, both quality and quantity, you can use a measuring stick in the oil filling line hole. If the color of the oil is still bright and the volume is still above the minimum mark then the oil is still good and the volume is still okay.
