Mitsubishi Motors confirmed development plans for a hybrid version of its Triton pickup truck, aimed at export markets including Australia, Southeast Asia, and parts of the Middle East. The model is designed to combine utility performance with improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

Executives said electrified pickups represent a major growth opportunity as commercial vehicle buyers seek practical alternatives to traditional diesel trucks. Production is expected to rely heavily on Mitsubishi’s Thailand manufacturing base, supporting both regional sales and global exports.
