Toyota is selling a Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car for $50,000

The Japanese automaker Toyota is taking a traditional approach to reducing vehicle emissions.

Instead of focusing on plug-in hybrid vehicles, the company is manufacturing a fuel cell-powered car.  Toyota's Mirai, With $20,000 worth of government subsidies it costs just $50,000. Obviously, it seems more expensive than a conventional car, but far less than hydrogen fuel cell used to cost.

At the moment, the Japanese automaker builds just 10 of the zero-emission vehicles per day. However, it could be a good fit for japan, where concentrated cities will leave people with less space for plug in vehicles.

The easy access to the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles may put japan in a leading position at time when emission regulations are becoming strict.
