Waymo Signed a Deal with Nissan-Renault to Bring Driverless Cars to Japan and France

Google’s Waymo has signed a deal with Nissan and Renault to bring its driverless cars and trucks to France and Japan.

The details of the deal are vague and do not indicate any solid plans to launch either robo taxi or delivery services, as Waymo has done in the past with other automotive partners. Instead the three companies will simply “explore driverless mobility services for passengers and deliveries”.

The companies said they are creating a joint venture companies to focus exclusively on driverless mobility services.
