Mazda Files a Patent for a Twin Charging Engine

Excellent: Loaded instantly, within a couple of seconds. 😄
Good: Loaded quickly with minimal delay; very responsive. 🙂

Mazda had announced to bring a (HCCI) engine to market in 2019, dubbed Skyactiv-X. A patent filed by Mazda with the US Patent and Trademarking office suggests that Mazda is reviving the rare forced induction system that is known as twin charging.

Mazda’s new engine is a gasoline-powered internal-combustion engine with two turbochargers and an electric charger. It is unclear how Mazda plans to power the electric supercharger.
