Electrify America Opens the 600th Ultra-Fast Charging Station in the US

Electric vehicle charging operator Electrify America has opened the 600th ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station in the continental United States and is now open to the public, the company said Thursday. The opening of the 600th station follows the completion of two cross-country routes and two coastal roads by 2020, providing more options for electric vehicle drivers to travel across the country. The Electrify America metro station offers to charge speeds of up to 150 kW, which can add about 7.5 miles per minute to the battery life for a high-powered vehicle. Locations near the highway have 150 kW and 350 kW chargers, which can increase the battery range by about 23 miles per minute for a high-powered vehicle.
